30  Parental Levels

You can set the Player to block or allow playback according to the DVD
movie rating. If someone tries to play a DVD whose rating exceeds the
level you selected, PARENTAL VIOLATION may appear on the TV screen.
Some DVDs may give you the option of entering your password to allow
playback. If not, change the PARENTAL setting so you can watch the Disc.
Not all DVDs conform to the levels you select, as not all DVDs are coded
or protected by the DVD manufacturer.Therefore, make sure the DVD
plays according to your PARENTAL setting before you allow children
unlimited access to the Player or DVDs.
To prevent specific DVDs from playing, regardless of how you set the
PARENTAL level, see page 29.

Number buttons to enter your six-digit password, then
press OK. 
The Parental settings will reappear, with the level you
selected highlighted in brown.Your password will not appear on the
TV screen, but Xs will show as you enter each digit.

RATING EXPLANATIONS

• ADULT - Mature material; should be viewed only by adults due to graphic

sexual material, violence, or language.

• NC-17 - No children under age 17; not recommended viewing for children

under age 17.

• R - Restricted; recommended that parents restrict children under age 17

from viewing or allow children to view only when supervised by a parent
or adult guardian.

• PGR - Parental Guidance Required
• PG 13 - Material is unsuitable for children under age 13.
• PG - Parental Guidance suggested.
• G - General Audience; recommended as acceptable for viewers of all ages.
• KID SAFE - Safe for children to view
