Configuring the Infrared Transceiver
To configure the computer’s settings for Fast Infrared (FIR) communication
follow these steps:
1.
Click
Start
, point to
Settings
(or just click
Start
and click
Control Panel
)
and click
Control Panel
.
2.
Double-click
Wireless Link
(in the
Printers and Other Hardware
Category
)
icon.
3.
Click
Hardware
(tab), and then click
Properties
(button).
4.
Select
Advanced
(tab).
5.
Select
“Infrared Transceiver A”
and change the
Value
to
“IBM 31T1100”
.
6.
Click
OK > OK
.
The settings for the infrared transceiver may also be configured in the
BIOS
(see
“COM Ports (Components Menu)” on page 5 - 13
).

connect.
Infrared
Communication
The infrared transceiv-
er operates on a “Line
of Sight”.
Make sure nothing is
blocking the “Line of
Sight” between your
system’s transceiver
and the destination’s
transceiver.
