End-of-Season Servicing
Perform the following procedures at the end of each operating season:
CAUTION
Never use gasoline, naphtha, or any volatile material for cleaning purposes. These materials may be toxic
and/or flammable.
CAUTION
Cover cutterbar to prevent injury from accidental contact.
1. Clean the mower conditioner thoroughly.
2. Store in a dry, protected place if possible. If stored outside, always cover mower conditioner with a waterproof
canvas or other protective material.
3. Raise mower conditioner and engage lift cylinder lock-outs.
4. Use blocks to take the weight off the mower conditioner’s tires if possible.
5. Repaint all worn or chipped painted surfaces to prevent rust.
6. Loosen drive belt.
7. Lubricate the mower conditioner thoroughly leaving excess grease on
fi
ttings to keep moisture out of bearings.
8. Apply grease to exposed threads, cylinder rods, and sliding surfaces of components.
9. Oil cutterbar components to prevent rust.
10. Check for worn components and repair as necessary.
11. Check for broken components and order replacements from your Dealer. Immediate repair of these items will
save time and effort at beginning of next season.
12. Replace or tighten any missing or loose hardware. Refer to
4.3.2 Torque Specifications, page 106
.
13. Remove divider rods (if equipped) to reduce space required for inside storage.
