Figure 4.11: Engine Oil Level on Dipstick
6.
Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level. The oil
level should be between the LOW (L) and HIGH (H) marks
on the dipstick. If the oil level is below the LOW mark, you
will need to add oil.
NOTE:
Adding 1.9 liters (2 U.S. quarts) of engine oil will raise the
level from LOW to HIGH. To add oil, refer to
7.
Replace the dipstick and turn it clockwise to lock it.

Engine Operation
Refer to this section to learn how to start, operate, and shut down the windrower
’
s engine.
Starting Engine
You can start the engine with the operator
’
s seat in the cab-forward or the engine-forward position.
DANGER
•
Only start the engine in a well-ventilated space.
•
Ensure that there are no bystanders present when starting the machine.
•
This machine has safety devices which allow the engine to start only when the ground speed lever (GSL) is in PARK,
the steering wheel is locked in the PARK position, and the HEADER ENGAGE switch is in the OFF position. Under NO
circumstances are these devices to be deliberately rewired or adjusted so that the engine can be started when the
GSL is out of the NEUTRAL position.
•
Do NOT start the engine by shorting across the starter or starter relay terminals. If the normal starting circuitry is
bypassed, the machine can start with the drive engaged and potentially start moving.
•
Start the engine only from the operator
’
s seat with the controls in PARK. NEVER start the engine while standing on
the ground. NEVER try to start the engine with someone under or near the machine.
