3. Remove oil drain plug (A) and allow the oil to
completely fi nish draining.
4. Replace drain plug (A).
5. Check the condition of the used oil. If either of the
following is evident, have your Dealer correct the
problem before starting the engine:
• Thin black oil indicates fuel dilution.
• Milky discoloration indicates coolant dilution.
6. Properly dispose of used oil.

Replacing Engine Oil Filter
NOTE:
Replace oil
fi lter each time engine oil is changed.
1. Open the hood. Refer to
5.4.1 Opening Hood (Lower
Position), page 202
.
2. Clean around the fi lter head (A).
3. Remove fi lter.
4. Clean gasket mating surface.
5. Apply a thin fi lm of clean oil to the gasket on the
new fi lter. Refer to
Filter Part Numbers, page 200
for
recommended oil fi lter to use.
6. Screw the new fi lter onto the fi lter mount until the
gasket contacts the fi lter head.
7. Tighten the fi lter an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn by hand.
IMPORTANT:
Do
NOT
use a fi lter wrench to install the oil fi lter.
Overtightening can damage the gasket and fi lter.
8. Properly dispose used oil fi lter.

5 minutes.
