PT1000and PTF1000 WHEEL STRETCHER

IFU - 024 Rev.A

2/20/2015

7. Lift stretcher straight up from bottom tray of

the shipping carton and remove it.

CAUTION:   The PT1000 Stretcher weighs

approximately 225 pounds (102 kg)
and the PTF1000 Stretcher weighs
approximately 275 pounds (124.7 kg).
The weights vary due to the different
bed sizes and options available.
This requires two or more people to
lift the stretcher out of the carton.
Failure to follow this precaution can
result in injury to personnel and
damage to the stretchers.

8. Remove plastic covering.
9. The PT1000 or PTF1000 Stretcher is now

ready for use.

Visual Inspection

1. Thoroughly inspect stretcher for any damage

not discovered in original unpacking.

2. Inspect all moving assemblies to make sure

that the stretcher is ready for use.

A. Inspect all four casters and make sure

they function properly.

B. All casters must make contact with the

floor at the same time.

C. Inspect both Release Pedals for proper

movement.

D. Inspect Brake Pedal Assembly to make

sure the brakes will stop the stretcher.

E. Engage and retract both Hydraulic

Cylinders to make they properly lift and
lower the stretcher as needed.

F. The Hydraulic Cylinders must reach

maximum height within 23 to 28
strokes.

G. PTF1000 Stretcher only: The 5th-

Wheel, when engaged, must make
solid contact with the floor.

Clean and Discard

1. All shipping and packing materials must be

discarded in compliance with Local and State
regulations.

2. Stretcher must be wiped down with a mild

soap and water solution to remove any debris

that may have accumulated during shipping.

3. Stretchers, when not in use, MUST not be

stacked on top of each other in storage.

4. Stretchers that are stored and not uncrated,

MUST not be double-stacked in storage.

Preparation for Use

1. Remove the mattress from the large plastic

bag. The head-end of the mattress has large
diagonal corners and should be placed over
the short end of the table.

2. The bottom of the mattress has two adhesive

strips. Remove the protective backing, turn

the mattress over and press it into place. This

will keep the mattress from making any

unwanted movement.

3. Find and unwrap the IV Pole laying in the

bottom tray of the stretcher.

4. Install IV Pole onto the stretcher. The IV Pole

can be installed into any of four locations and

is held securely in place.
