The locomotive’s lights are controlled by a constant voltage circuit in the engine. They
are easy to remove and replace when they burn out. See the diagrams and directions
below for instructions on accessing and replacing the light bulbs in this locomotive.
You can obtain replacement bulbs directly from the M.T.H. Parts Department (order
online: www.mth-railking.com, e-mail: [email protected]; mail: 7020 Columbia
Gateway Drive, Columbia MD 21046-1532, FAX: 410-381-6122).
To Replace:
Gently pull the wires until the bulb comes free
of the housing. Push the new bulb into place
and reconnect the wires.
To Replace Driver Lights:
Remove boiler shell as shown on Page 13 Fig 6.
Remove the 2 screws that attach the PCB
bracket to the frame. Move the PCB assemble to
the side. Cut the cable tie that bind the wire
harness together. Be careful not to cut any of the
wires. Unplug the set of wires with the burn out
bulb from the distribution board, just behind the
smoke unit. Gently pull the bulb(s) to be
replaced from the backside of the bulb holder.
To install the new bulb (s), reverse the
procedure.
