Power is provided for plug-in accessory modules through the 20-pin accessory connectors. However, you should
also connect the earth ground spade lug of
each accessory module
to ground in the same manner.

Power Wiring
The JO-PC1 is powered by wiring to a
dedicated
Class 2, 24V transformer, or to a 24Vdc power source to the
24V terminal located on the JO-34 I/O module. The JO-34 provides power to the attached JO-PC1, and up to
two attached T-IO-16 modules (if used).
Note
If powering from a 24V transformer, do not power other equipment with it. Otherwise, conducted noise
problems may result. Also, do
not
ground either side of the transformer’s 24V secondary.
Power consumption depends on installed accessories and option boards, and may vary from:
•
JO-PC1 with JO-34 module alone: approximately 8.5 VA (AC) or 8.5 W (DC).
•
JO-PC1 with JO-34, 2 additional JO-16 modules, plus option cards: up to 20 VA (AC) or 20 W (DC).
As shown in
, the JO-34’s 2-position power connector is located at the lower corner of the unit. Unplug
the connector from the module and make connections to its as shown.
Note
Do not apply 24V power until all other wiring is completed, including JO-34 and JO-16 inputs and
outputs. See
“Power Up and Initial Checkout,”
