• If the device is not in use make sure the plug is
pulled out.
• Make sure that the device is switched off before
plugging in the mains cable.
• Make sure that the device is switched off before
unplugging it.
• Disconnect the power supply before transport-
ing the device.
• The power connection cable of this device can-
not be replaced. In the event of damages to the
power connection cable, the device should be
disposed of in accordance with the appropriate
regulations.
Device-specific safety instructions
• If operating a power tool in a damp environment
is unavoidable, use a residual current device
(RCD) with no more than 30 mA. Use of an RCD
reduces the risk of electric shock. NOTE: The
term "residual current device (RCD)" may be
replaced by the term "ground fault circuit inter-
rupter (GFCI)" or "earth leakage circuit breaker
(ELCB)".
• Keep the work area clean and tidy when working
with the product.
• No tools, objects or cables may be left lying in
the work area around the product.
• Make sure there is adequate lighting when work-
ing with the product.
• Avoid overheating the product and workpiece.
• Do not process any materials which contain
harmful substances. Risk of releasing carcino-
genic substances!
• Keep the handles dry and free from grease.
• Do not expose the product to moisture.
• The soldering gun may only be used for intermit-
tent operation (operating mode:
• Protect your body and eyes from soldering
splashes and liquid tin-solder. Wear the appro-
priate protective clothing and goggles while you
are working.
• The soldering tip of the soldering iron will still be
hot even after it has been switched off. Always
hold the soldering tool by the handle only.
• The gases that occur during soldering may,
under certain circumstances, cause damage to
your health. As a result, you should use a suita-
ble extraction unit or ensure sufficient ventila-
tion, as and when required.
• Lead-containing solders are toxic. Never eat,
drink or smoke when soldering. Always wash
your hands thoroughly after working with lead-
containing solder.
• Protect persons and animals from hot tin-solder.
If skin comes into contact with hot tin-solder,
immediately rinse the affected area under cold
running water for a few minutes. Never attempt
to remove tin-solder from the skin.
• Never use flammable solvents to clean soldered
joints.
• Soldering irons generate a considerable amount
of heat. Please ensure that you keep all objects
away from the hot soldering iron that may be
destroyed or impaired by it in one way or
another. Please use the supplied stand.
• Allow the soldering iron to cool down after use
before putting it away.
• Never touch the plug, the power cable or the
product with wet hands.
• The product may not become damp or wet. This
brings about the risk of a life threatening electri-
cal shock!
• Only transport the device when it has completely
cooled down, otherwise there is a risk of burns
or of fire! The same applies for when you wish to,
for example, change the soldering tip (unplug the
soldering iron from the power supply before
doing so!).
• Never work on electrical components that are
under power. Always ensure that the object you
wish to solder is separated from the power sup-
ply before you start work, and check to ensure
that it is without voltage.
• Protect both your body and eyes from soldering
spray and liquid solder. When working, wear
suitable protective clothing and goggles.
• The gases that occur during soldering may
cause damage to your health. As a result, you
should use a suitable extraction unit or ensure
sufficient ventilation, as and when required.
• During operation, the entire front section of the
soldering iron is very hot. To prevent burns,
please only hold the soldering iron by the handle.
• Do not operate the soldering iron in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of flam-
mable liquids, gasses and dust.
• Before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning
work, always pull the power plug out of the
socket and allow the soldering iron to cool down
fully.
• Store a soldering iron that is not in use out of the
reach of children. Do not allow persons to oper-
ate the soldering iron who are not familiar with it,
or who have not read these instructions.
Risk of fire
• Never leave the product unattended when it is
switched on.
• Allow the product to completely cool after use
and before transporting and carrying out mainte-
nance or cleaning work.
• Keep the product away from all flammable or
temperature-sensitive objects.
• Never place the product on tables or other sur-
faces.
• Always use the stand provided to store the prod-
uct.
Symbols
• Symbols appearing on your product must not be
removed or covered. Signs on the product that
are no longer legible must be replaced immedi-
ately.
Read and observe the instructions for use
before using the product for the first time.
