3. After you have created your driver installation diskette, follow the
directions in the section, “Updating the Mylex Controller Driver” on
page 3-7.
Updating the Mylex Controller Driver
If you have gotten to this point, Windows XP or .NET should already be
installed.
The Windows XP or .NET CD-ROM comes with an embedded Mylex driver
for one of the following controllers: eXtremeRAID 2000, eXtremeRAID
3000, AcceleRAID 160/170LP, AcceleRAID 170, or AcceleRAID 352. The
Windows XP or .NET installation routine installed and used this driver
during the Windows XP or .NET installation. This driver now needs to be
updated.
The procedure that follows explains in detail how to update to the new
Mylex Windows XP or .NET driver for the controller (mentioned above) that
you are installing.
1. On the Desktop, right-click on “My Computer” and select Manage.
2. Select Device Manager.
3. From the Device Manager Screen, SCSI and RAID controllers, double-
click the name of the appropriate controller device (Figure 2-2).
