5.2.7.ROTATION MONITOR
The rotation monitor is an optional system for the FG5, so it is possible to operate
the FG5 without it. The rotation monitor is a diagnostic tool which is used to
determine if there is excessive rotation of the test mass about a horizontal axis
(i.e. if the balls and/or v-grooves are worn, and need to be replaced). Possible
problems and solutions are shown in Table 5-7.
