Step 10 (sides - row 2)
Glue the notches of:
•
o the last two 2 notched logs (10.5 cm); and
o one 1 notched log (3.6 cm).
Place the logs with notches down over the last row as shown.

Step 11 (front & back - row 3)
Glue the notches of:
•
o one 2 notched log (14.3 cm);
o two 1 notched logs (2.8 cm); and
o one 1 notched log (3.6 cm).
Place the logs with notches down over the last row as shown.

Step 12 (sides - row 3)
Glue the notches of five 1 notched log (3.6 cm).
•
Place the logs with notches down over the last row as shown.
•
Step 13 (front & back - row 4)
Glue the notches of:
•
o one 2 notched log (14.3 cm);
o the last two 2 notched logs (2.8 cm); and
o one 1 notched log (3.6 cm).
Place the logs with notches down over the last row as shown.
•
Step 14 (sides - row 4)
Glue the notches of five 1 notched logs (3.6 cm).
•
Place the logs with notches down over the last row as shown.
•
Step 15 (front & back - row 5)
Glue the notches of:
•
o one 2 notched log (14.3 cm); and
o one 3 notched log (14.3 cm).
Place the logs with notches down over the last row as shown.

Step 16 (sides - row 5)
Glue the notches of:
•
o two 2 notched tapered logs (12.6 cm); and
o the last 1 notched log (3.6 cm).
Place the logs with notches down over the last row as shown.

Step 17 (front & back - row 6)
Glue the notches of the:
•
o last 2 notched log (14.3 cm); and
o the last 3 notched log (14.3 cm).
Place the logs with notches down over the last row as shown.
•
Note: At this point, make sure the door and windows fit into the openings
before the Ski Chalet dries.
Step 18 (front & back - row 7)
Spread a small amount of glue in the grooves of both gables.
•
Evenly place the gable with the flag hole onto the top row of logs at the
•
front of the Ski Chalet. Ensure that the log side is facing out and the
gable is straight up.
Evenly place the other gable on the top row of logs at the back of the Ski
•
Chalet. Ensure that the log side is facing out and the gable is straight up.
Placing the Roof
Step 19
Spread a small amount of glue on the edge of the gables.
•
Center the two roof panels evenly over the gables so the thin edges meet
•
at the top.
Allow to dry.
•
The Final Touches
Step 20
Glue the balcony onto the two 2 notched tapered logs (12.6 cm).
•
Spread glue on the paper side of the hinge and press it in place against
•
the logs on the left side of the doorway.
Glue the outside edges of each window and place them into the window
•
openings.
When dry, turn the base over so the half logs are down. Spread glue onto
•
the half logs on the bottom of the Ski Chalet and place it onto the base
near the back as shown.
Insert the flag into the hole in the front gable.
•
Glue the canoe over the doorway.
•
Glue the chimney onto the middle of the “1 ridge” roof piece on the right
•
side.
Glue one end of the remaining railing posts and place them onto the base
•
using the railings as a guide for positioning. Allow posts to dry.
Glue the tops of the railing posts and place the front railings [one railing
•
(3.3 cm) and one railing (7.6 cm)] on the posts, leaving a little room on the
corner posts for the ends of the side railings to rest.
Glue one end of the two side railings [railing (3.3 cm)] and place them
•
over the side and corner posts. The end with glue should touch the front
railing.
Glue the skis against the front of the Ski Chalet.
