Replacing the searchlight lamp

D

uring the course of normal operations, the lamp that illuminates your searchlight may require
replacement. Simply lift off the searchlight housing and base to access the expired lamp, then

press down and turn the expired lamp to remove it. Refer to Figure 9. Replace it with Lionel part no.
600-0363-300, available at your Authorized Lionel Service Center.

Replacing the driving washer

A

driving washer causes your searchlight to rotate when the vibrating motor is activated. The
entire searchlight housing rests on the “fingers” that project from the bottom of the driving

washer. During the course of normal operations, these projections may become worn. Lift off the
searchlight housing and base to access the worn driving washer, and then pull the washer off of the
base. Refer to Figure 2. Replace it with Lionel part no. 600-2494-050 (available at your Authorized
Lionel Service Center) using rubber cement to secure the washer to the searchlight base.

You may need to lubricate the driving washer with powdered graphite (available at hard-
ware stores) after an extended period of operation. Apply the graphite sparingly to the
top of the lamp base when you notice the rotation of the searchlight slowing down. See
Figure 9.
