Operating the Crane Car
T
urn the two control wheels on the side of the cab to raise and lower the boom, pulley block,
and the hooks. The wheel towards the rear of the cab controls the boom. The wheel towards
the front controls the hooks. These controls are illustrated in Figure 1.
Keep in mind that the operating hooks and the operating pully block are both operated by
the hook control wheel. To select a hook, simply use the control wheel to provide some slack in
the line, then manually pull down the object that you would like to use.
Always be sure that the cab, boom, and hooks clear the track, rolling stock, and
scenery on your layout.
