Instruction manual

“Solar island”

These operating instructions must be read, observed and stored before installation and use
of the equipment supplied.

If the solar island you have purchased requires installation or assembly prior to
commissioning, please observe the installation instructions. These instructions must first be
read and followed.

The solar island was manufactured to supply small consumers, e.g. pumps, with electricity.
Any other use is strictly prohibited.

The standard version of the solar island is delivered completely ready for operation. If you
have ordered a special version, the power connection must be carried out by a specialist.
The operating voltage is between 23 and 27 V direct current, depending on the state of
charge of the battery; the maximum current is 10 A. Battery and solar island are protected
by the switch fuse (15A). Another fuse is located in the charge controller.

Attention! Solar panel already produces electricity even in low light, there is a danger of
short circuits! During maintenance work, switch off the fuse switch and disconnect the plug
of the solar panel if necessary.

If a voltage converter is connected to the solar island, the operator is obliged to comply with
all applicable regulations and, for example, to provide a fault current switch. This must be
checked by a specialist.

For the solar controller of the solar island, a separate description of the manufacturer Victron
Energy with technical data is enclosed with the shipment.
You can also find this description on the manufacturer's homepage in the download area.
Here is the corresponding link: www.victronenergy.de/support-and-downloads/software

Also on this homepage - but also in the App Stores - you can download the free app for
controlling the solar controller.
With the app "VictronConnect" you can quickly and easily connect the solar island to your
smartphone via Bluetooth.
The app provides comprehensive information about the charging status and performance of
the solar island.

The installed solar controller is set for BatteryLive. Other settings will damage the battery. If
the battery voltage drops too much, it switches off the load output.
Attention! The load output switch switches itself on again automatically as soon as the
battery voltage is high enough! Switching on may take several hours after sunset. When
using the Vario Wheel in bad weather, half the power is recommended to ensure 24-hour
operation. For further functions and information please use the app. See the controller
operating instructions. (Password: 000000)

Installation

The solar island must stand on level and firm ground. It should be aligned as shade-free as
possible to the midday sun. Shadows cast by trees, power cables or buildings, for example,
reduce the output considerably. To protect the solar island from storms or theft, it must be
secured with two stainless steel straps.
The solar island should be carried on the plastic tub, not on the solar panel. Linn Gerätebau
is not liable for storm damage or damage to third parties, e.g. stone throwing or theft.

Important

Modifications to the solar island or opening the control unit is prohibited. We accept no
liability for damage or loss caused by the failure of a solar island. The operator must provide
a fuse (alarm system) to report any failure of the device.

Other information

We would like to point out that according to the Product Liability Act we are not liable for
damage caused by our device if the instructions and regulations from this operating manual
are not observed.

The solar island must be in a flood-proof area. It must be checked for damage before use.

In the event of a defect in the solar island, repair work may only be carried out by the
manufacturer or an authorised specialist workshop. In addition, only original spare parts may
be used.

The product contains batteries and electronic components, which must be removed and
disposed of in a suitable place.
