3.2
Besonderheiten des AV-Meßgerätes
3.2.1 Automatische Selbstabschaltung
Ca. 45 min. nach Einschalten des Gerätes schaltet sich das
Gerät automatisch ab. Im ausgeschalteten Zustand befindet
sich der Zeiger in Mittelstellung. Wenn während der Messung
nicht eindeutig klar ist, ob das Gerät noch aktiv ist, durch Betäti-
gen des Tasters

sicherstellen, daß das Gerät eingeschaltet
ist. (ggf. Kontrolle der Betriebsbereitschaft mittels Batteriekon-
trolle, siehe Abschnitt 4)
3.2.2 Überlastverhalten (s. auch Tabelle 1)
In den Strombereichen wird das Gerät durch einen Strom von
14 A nicht beschädigt.
Wird das Gerät in den Strombereichen direkt mit der Netzspan-
nung verbunden, fließt ein hoher Kurzschlußstrom (bis zu eini-
gen 100 A), der die Sicherung der elektrischen Hausinstallation
auslöst.

Batteriekontrolle und Batteriewechsel

Nur auslaufgeschützte Batterien oder NC-Akkus verwenden
(Mignonzellen, 1,5 V, 2250 mAh, Typ IEC R 6, z.B. Mignonzelle

I" einstellen. Steht der Zeiger nicht im "OK-Feld" (funk-
tionsfähige Batterien) sondern vor dem "OK-Feld", Batterien
wechseln, da bei zu niedriger Batteriespannung die Meßfehler
zunehmen.
Zum Wechseln der Batterien Schrauben (11.1) entfernen; Ab-
deckhaube

vorsichtig abnehmen. Alte Batterien entfernen.
Bei ausgelaufenen Batterien Batteriefach und Kontakte reini-
gen. Neue Batterien einsetzen. Dabei unbedingt auf korrekte
Polung achten (im Batteriefach angedeutet!). Abdeckhaube

aufsetzen und ordnungsgemäß verschrauben.
Batterien ordnungsgemäß entsorgen.

Wartung
Batterien aus dem Batteriefach nehmen, wenn das AV-Meßge-
rät längere Zeit nicht genutzt wird, um Beschädigung des Gerä-
tes bei ausgelaufenen Batterien auszuschließen.
3.2
Special features of the AV-meter
3.2.1 Automatic cut-out
The meter automatically switches off approx. 45 minutes after
being switched on. The pointer is in the center position when
the device is deactivated. If, during the measurement, you can-
not tell whether the meter is active, press pushbutton

make sure that the device is on (if necessary, check the state of
the battery using the battery monitor, see section 4).
3.2.2 Overload behavior (see also table 1)
In the current ranges, the device cannot be damaged by cur-
rents of up to 14 A.
If the meter is connected directly to the mains voltage while in a
current range, a high short-circuit current (up to several
hundred amperes) flows, which will trip your house circuit brea-
ker.

Checking and replacing the battery
Remove the cover

only when the meter is disconnected from
all apparatus.
Use only leak-proof batteries or NC-rechargeables (batteries,
Mignon type, 1.5 V, 2250 mAh, type IEC R 6, e.g. battery
685 44, or NC-rechargeable batteries, 1.2 V)
To test the batteries, set measuring-range selector

to "BATT.

to "I". If the pointer does not deflect to the "OK-field"
(batteries good), but stops before reaching the "OK-field", re-
place the batteries; measuring errors will increase if the battery
voltage is too low.
To replace the batteries, remove screws (11.1), and carefully
take off cover

. Take out the old batteries.
If the batteries have leaked, clean the battery compartment and
the contacts before inserting new batteries. Be sure to insert
the batteries with the correct polarity (indicated in battery com-
partment)! Replace cover

and screw it down properly.
Dispose of the old batteries properly.

Maintenance
Remove the batteries from the battery compartment when the
AV-meter is not used for a longer period, to prevent damage to
the device due to leaking batteries.
