3 Installation
Only fill in the oil after having installed the pump.
3.1 Installation
Install RUVAC WS/WSU pumps on a flat, horizontal surface (1° max. tilt).
If the pump is not level, lubricant may enter the pumping chamber from the
gear chambers.
Keep the air intake and exhaust ducts for cooling the motor unobstructed (for
minimum clearance with respect to the fan cowl, see Fig. 1.5).
The pump’s ambient temperature should be between 12 °C and 40 °C .
Lower temperatures hamper run-up; higher ones shorten the lubricant chan-
ge intervals and may lead to greater wear.
Special oil for operation at temperatures below 12 °C is available upon
request.
Install the pumps only in rooms with a roof. Motor and fan cowl are rated
as IP 20 and are thus not protected against drip water and condensing
water.
