Removal procedures
The following procedures are arranged according to the name of the printer part discussed.
General precautions on removals
Notes:
•
Some removal procedures require removing cable ties. You must replace cable ties during reassembly to
avoid pinching wires, obstructing the paper path, or restricting mechanical movement.
•
“Ink tank removal” on page 4-5
.
•
Always remove the power cord from the AC electrical outlet. Do not REBRICK the printer. Also remove the
power supply from the printer. See
“Power supply removal” on page 4-10
•
Do not interchange screws during reinstallation, as this may damage the machine. Always take note of
their original placement in the machine.
•
Use a flat and clean surface.
•
Use only authorized replacement parts.
•
Do not force plastic parts.
•
Do not tilt the printer unless specified in the procedure.
Releasing plastic latches
Many of the parts are held with plastic latches. The latches break easily; release them carefully. To remove such
parts, press the hook end of the latch away from the part to which it is latched.
CAUTION
Remove the power cord from the electrical outlet before you connect or disconnect any cable
or electronic board or assembly for personal safety and to prevent damage to the printer.
Disconnect any connections between the printer and PCs/peripherals.
