To recharge the battery:
1. Turn the camera off.
2. Connect the USB cable to your camera (5 pin) and computer (4 pin). The computer
must be turned on.
3. Charging starts when the Power/LED charge indicator (10) turns red. The charge
indicator light turns off when the camera has been charged.
4. When the battery icon is full, you can unplug the USB cable and start using the camera
as normal.
Note:
• It is normal for the camera to feel warm during charging.
• We recommend that the battery is recharged only when it is empty.
The lithium battery is intended for use only with this product. Do not disassemble the battery.
Do not dispose of the battery in fire or water. To avoid risk of fire, burns, or damage to your
battery, do not allow a metal object to touch the battery contacts. Handle a damaged or leaking
battery with extreme care. If it contacts the eye, flush the eye with water for 15 minutes and seek
medical attention. Do not charge the lithium battery pack if the ambient temperature exceeds
45°C (113°F). To obtain a replacement battery, contact your local dealer. Do not expose the
battery to high storage temperatures (above 60°C, 140°F). When disposing of the device,
please make sure to remove the rechargeable battery from the equipment and dispose of it
properly. When discarding a battery pack, contact your local waste disposal provider regarding
local restrictions on the disposal or recycling of batteries. Only use the supplied USB cable for
charging. Remove the battery if you are not going to use the product for a long period of time.
INSERTING AND CHARGING BATTERIES
To insert the battery:
1. Make sure the camera is off.
2. Slide open the battery door (20) in the direction of the arrow.
3. Insert 1 x 3.7V rechargeable battery (included). The battery has gold contacts on one
end; this is the end that should be inserted first into the battery compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment.
Note:
When the low battery icon
appears on the LCD screen (8), recharge the battery.
INSTALLING A MEMORY CARD
2. Push the SD card firmly into the SD slot until you hear a ‘click’ sound. Turn the camera
on and
should be visible in the bottom right of the LED screen. If no SD card has
been inserted, you will not be able to store your pictures.
Note:
• To remove the card, push it in slightly to release it from the slot.
• Always turn the camera off when you insert or remove an SD card.
• We recommend that you purchase a good quality SD card.
WARNING:
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace with same or
equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Discard used batteries according to the
manufacturer`s instructions or locals laws.
You need to insert an SD card (8GB maximum, not included) so you can store your files.
1. Turn off the camera and open the battery/SD memory card door (20).
TURNING THE CAMERA ON AND OFF
Press and hold the ON/OFF button (5) to turn the camera on. When you turn the camera
on, the blue Busy LED indicator (9) illuminates and the LCD screen lights up to confirm the
camera is ready for use. Press the ON/OFF button (5) once more to turn the camera off.
Note:
The camera will auto power off after a period of inactivity to save battery power.
Press the ON/OFF button (5) to reactivate the camera. You can change the power-off time
by setting the function [Auto Off] in the ‘Settings Menu (Capture Mode) > Setup’ section
on page 26.
FORMATTING A MEMORY CARD
If the card is new or was previously formatted by another camera, format the card so that
the file format is compatible with your camera.
Caution:
Formatting will delete all stored photos and videos even if they have been
protected. Download important files to your computer before formatting.
