Master/Slave Modes

The Lex7Star can be linked together with other Lex7Star units to

create a stunning, in-sync lightshow. This is acheived by linking the

units together via the 3 pin DMX connections at the rear. Please see

diagram below:

By choosing the

Master

program mode and connecting the DMX OUT

to another fixture will allow the

Slaves

 to copy the

Master

. The above

example shows the

Master

set to Sound-To_Light Mode. Dip switch 9

on the Slave(s) tell the unit it is a slave.

DMX Mode

DMX (Digital Multiplex) is a universal protocol used as a form

of communication between intelligent fixtures and controllers. A

DMX controller sends DMX data instructions from the controller

to the fixture. DMX data is sent as serial data that travels from

fixture to fixture via the DATA “IN” and DATA “OUT” XLR termi

-

nals located on all DMX fixtures.

The Lex7Star is a DMX enabled fixture and the DMX mode and

DMX address settings are controlled via the Dip Switches. It

also carries the standard 3-pin XLR connections for DMX use.

To set your fixture for use with a universal DMX controller:

Dip Switches all to the OFF position

on

With all Dip switches set to OFF position now means your

fixture is now in DMX mode and is awaiting for you to assign a

DMX Fixture address. Address settings are obtained by using

dip switches 1 - 9. See example below:

Light 1 in the (01)DMX Universe -

Dip 1 to ON

Light 2 in the (17)DMX Universe -

Dip 1 & 5 to ON

Light 3 in the (34)DMX Universe -

Dip 2 & 6 to ON

This based on the controller having 16 channels per fixture.

Please see the instructions of your controller for more details on

fixture addressing.
