Canguro
Congratulations with the purchase of your Canguro rocking armchair.
We recommend that you read these instructions before you put it into use. Here are some useful tips
for using your armchair safely and more information about the rocking limiters and synthetic strips
supplied.
1. Use
Canguro is a piece of furniture with movement. Please take note of the following points:
The armchair may slide when rocked intensively (depending upon the surface it is on). Therefore, place
the armchair at a suffi cient distance from the wall and ensure that there are no objects placed behind
or near the armchair.
Please note the dangers of “jamming” and “falling”.
1.1 Risk of jamming
(also when using the limiters, see point 2)
Avoid the risk of jamming by paying attention to the following points:
•
Ensure that nobody is behind or next to the armchair when rocking (fi ngers or feet may become
jammed).
•
Do not move the limiters when you are (or someone else is) seated in the armchair. Always stand
behind or next to the armchair to move the limiters.
•
To avoid jamming between the armrests and a table top, do not place the armchair at a table.
1.2 Risk of falling
•
The rocking movement of the armchair may cause it to slide. It is therefore recommended that you
do not use this armchair near a drop or step.
•
Do not stand on the seat of the armchair. Even when the limiters have been applied (see chapter 2).
A rocking armchair is unstable.
•
Do not sit on the edge of the seat. You could fall when the armchair moves or rocks.
2. Limiters
The two synthetic rings supplied act as limiters to the rocking movement.
2.1 Use
•
Slide the rings on the back of the legs (one on each side) until they reach the desired position.
•
In order to further fi x the armchair it is possible to also apply two limiters to the front (not supplied).
These additional limiters can be ordered from your Leolux-dealer or via the Leolux Service
Department.
2.2 Attention
•
When applying/adjusting the limiters the armchair must not be in use. Fingers can get jammed!
•
The limiters are not suitable for violent rocking movements! When the armchair rocks past the
limiter, it is not necessarily dangerous but certainly unpleasant.
3. Synthetic strips
With use, depending upon the surface, the strips under the armchair will wear. The synthetic strips
supplied are to replace the worn strips in such an event.
The self-adhesive side of the strips must be placed in the middle under the legs (starting approx. 1 cm
from the back).
