See if the telephone cable is well connected to the Modem port
on the computer.

See if you have hung up your telephone and extensions.

If you are using ISDN, see if the ISDN devices are working

See if your telephone cable is working well and can dial an
outside number.

If you are using an extension line in a hotel or other places, see
if it supports dial-up Internet access service.
Note: Some telephone cables devices might use different
standards from normal cables. This might cause
compatibility problem when you want to access
internet by dial-up. If your computer can dial-up with
normal telephone, it means that the computer works
