Step 8.
Using the cables from the former tape drive, connect the signal and power cables to the back of
the tape drive.
Step 9.
Make sure all the cables are out of the way, and slide the tape-drive assembly the rest of the
way into the tape-drive bay.
Step 10. Push the tray handle to the closed (locked) position.
Step 11. Replace the cover (see “Replacing the cover” on page 240).
Step 12. Slide the server into the rack.
Step 13. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.
Step 14. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
Removing a memory module
Use this information to remove a memory module.
To remove a dual inline memory module (DIMM), complete the following steps:
Step 1.
Read the safety information that begins on “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines”
on page 34.
Step 2.
Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords.
Step 3.
Remove the cover (see “Removing the cover” on page 240).
Step 4.
Remove the air baffle (see “Removing the air baffle” on page 241).
Step 5.
Carefully open the retaining clips on each end of the DIMM connector and remove the DIMM.
Attention:
To avoid breaking the retaining clips or damaging the DIMM connectors, open and
close the clips gently.

Step 6.
If you are instructed to return the DIMM, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging
materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
