Prerequisite
Before you start, read

, and print the following instructions.
The heat-sink-and-fan assembly and microprocessor might be very hot. Before you open the computer
cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is cool.
For access, do the following:
1. Remove these parts in order, if any:
a. Remove the computer cover. See “Computer cover” on page 56.
b. Remove the front bezel. See “Front bezel” on page 57.
c. Remove the drive bay assembly. See “Drive bay assembly” on page 58.
d. “Front I/O bracket and card reader” on page 75.
e. “Memory module” on page 60.
f. “Heat sink and fan assembly” on page 77.
g. “Microprocessor” on page 78.
j. “Front I/O bracket and card reader” on page 75
l. “PCI Express card” on page 63
m. “M.2 solid-state drive and heat sink” on page 64
2. Record the cable routing and cable connections, and then disconnect all cables from the system board.
