3. Pull the bracket handle to slide the drive out of the drive bay.

4. Flex two sides of the drive bracket to remove the drive from the bracket.
5. If you are instructed to return the old drive, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging
materials that are supplied to you for shipping.
Installing a storage drive into drive bay 1
Note:
For a 2.5-inch hard disk drive or solid-state drive, install the drive into a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch drive
adapter first. See “Installing a 2.5-inch drive into a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch drive adapter” on page 46.
To install a storage drive into drive bay 1, do the following:
1. Prepare your server. See “Preparing your server and removing the server cover” on page 41.
2. Flex the drive bracket and align pins

on the bracket with the corresponding holes in the
drive. Do not touch the circuit board

on the bottom of the drive.
