Step 2.  Separate the system board from the supporting sheet metal.

After disassembling the system board, comply with local regulations when recycling.

Disassemble the system board filler for recycle

Follow the instructions in this section to disassemble the system board filler before recycling.

Before disassembling the system board filler:

1.  Remove the system board filler from the server (see “Remove a system board filler” on page 113).
2.  Refer to local environmental, waste or disposal regulations to ensure compliance.

Complete the following steps to disassemble the system board filler:

Step 1.  Use a screwdriver and remove the six screws (three each side) on the system board filler.

Step 2.  Separate the latches from the system board filler.

After disassembling the system board filler, comply with local regulations when recycling.

Disassemble the front cover for recycle

Follow the instructions in this section to disassemble the front cover before recycling.

Before disassembling the front cover:

1.  Remove the front cover from the server (see “Remove the front cover” on page 131).
2.  Refer to local environmental, waste or disposal regulations to ensure compliance.

Complete the following steps to disassemble the front cover:

Step 1.  Use a flat tool (such as a screwdriver or blade) to scrape away the protruding part of the following 

stakes as illustrated: 

•  Three hollow stakes
