Updating the CBS superblock
This section covers the steps required to update the CBS superblock.
Ensure that the sizes of the CBS pool and CBS pool data are properly increased according to the Increasing
the size of the CBS pool section.
Procedure performed by : Customer or field service
To update the CBS superblock, follow these steps:
Step 1. Copy the current CBS superblock to a temporary file:

Step 2. Check the current values in the previously created temporary file:

Step 3. Get the new number of 512–byte sectors:

Step 4. Update the
pool_device : size_sectors
and
data_device : size_sectors
in
/tmp/superblock.tmp
a. Edit to file:
vvii //ttm mp p//ssu up peerrb bllo occkk..ttm mp p
b. Type ii to input data.
c. Replace the values of the
pool_device : size_sectors
and
data_device : size_sectors
with the
number of 512–byte sectors from step 4.
In our example, this value is
186,220,306,136
512–byte sectors.
