Step 7.
Connect the Controller to a Drive Enclosure
Use SAS cables to connect the controller to a drive enclosure
containing SAS physical disks, SATA physical disks, or a
combination of both disk types.
Note:

Section 2.5, “Connecting the Controller to a Drive
for the installation procedure.
The maximum cable length is six meters. You can connect one
device per SAS PHY unless you use an expander.
