DirecDoor Installation Guide
•
Clean and clear all mounting areas of corrosive gases and airborne metallic particles. Avoid
installing near photocopiers due to contamination from toner particles.
•
Protect the DirecDoor from hazardous (high) voltages.
•
Mount the DirecDoor on a vertical surface with at least 6 inches (15.2 cm) clearance on all four
sides to support thermal air cooling.
•
Locate the DirecDoor in a place that provides dedicated AC earth ground. The DirecDoor must
be earth grounded.
•
Keep interior and exterior housing of all DirecDoor cabinets and other components free of wire
remnants.
•
Avoid temperatures outside range specified for DirecDoor operating environment (refer to
Specifications on page 10). Do not leave boards or other components in direct sunlight.
•
To avoid mechanical damage, do not drop or stack boards.
•
Do not subject printed circuit boards to electrostatic discharge.
Mounting Instructions
Mount the controller cabinet using the following steps, the DirecDoor Mounting Template on
page 19, and figure DirecDoor Controller and Components in Standard Enclosure on page 20.
• WARNING! • Do not apply power to any component during installation. Damage to
components may occur if power is incorrectly applied.
1.
Remove enclosure from shipping container and remove any packing material.
2.
Using the DirecDoor Mounting Template, mark and then drill the four (4) mounting holes.
3.
Bolt the enclosure securely to the wall using four (4) #8 thread lag bolts or equivalent.
4.
The DirecDoor has standard cable knockouts on the sides, bottom and back of enclosure. These
knockouts are to be used to install cabling. Use proper size and type of cable strain reliefs to
secure cables to enclosure.

The DirecDoor controller must be earth grounded.
