PREPARE FOR OPERATION

PAINT STRAINING AND THINNING
The surface to be sprayed should be completely clean
and dry to achieve proper adhesion.
Always strain all material to be sprayed. This includes
color, reducer and hardners if used.

Figure 8. - Automotive paint reduction.

Paint Reduction - Automotive Type Finishes. Reduce
and catalyze all paint to manufacturer’s specifications.
Remember: To compensate for the faster drying time of
turbine systems, use a reducer one step slower than for
conventionalair spray to enhance flow-out.

Figure 9. - Industrial paint reduction.

Paint Reduction- Industrial or domestic coatings (if
no reductions are given.)
Thoroughly mix material to be
sprayed, and gradually mix in the proper reducer until
proper spraying consistency is reached. To test: withdraw
stir stick from the thinned paint. As soon as the paint
stream running off the stir stick breaks into droplets, the
first few drops should be about one second apart.

Figure 10. - Test Spray Pattern.

Test Spray Pattern.
Spray material on a test surface to check for proper
material flow, coverage and atomization .
1.

Open air valve to full flow.

2.

Adjust aircap from neutral position to required pattern
size.

3.

Adjust material control knob for proper flow.

Thin Materials: Decrease air flow through gun to mini-
mize mist.
Heavy Materials: If flow rate is too slow, additional
thinning will be needed or a larger fluid nozzle will be
required, see Page 8.

POWER SUPPLY, MOTOR CARE
All Lemmer Portable Turbine Systems are lifetime lubri-
cated. The only maintenance required is scheduled filter
cleaning and replacement.

FILTER MAINTENANCE
The filter must be clean at all times. This is very important
to the life of your turbine. We recommend that the filter be
checked weekly.

—Clean main filter by one of these methods—

Warning: Never put damp filters in the turbine!

Figure 5. - Cleaning filter by tapping.

Tap gently on flat surface dirty side down.

Figure 6. - Cleaning filter with air.

Direct compressed air (100 P.S.I. max.) thru panel oppo-
site the direction of arrows.

Figure 7. - Cleaning filter with water.

1.

Soak 15 min, in water and a mild detergent.

2.

Rinse until clean.

3.

Air dry - do not use compressed air.
