3.4.3 Fine focusing: FF and FFW
The motorized fine focusing is used for focusing
with HR microscope objectives. Here, the inte-
grated mechanism only moves the objective.
The integrated motorized fine focusing allows
sensitive and precise focusing in a range of
10 mm. The fine focusing is required for precise
focusing at high magnifications, particularly
when using microscope objectives.
The working distance of the instrument is
set using the coarse/fine focusing drive or with
the optional motor focus.

are used for quick focus-
ing, the focus wheel

for fine and precise
up/down.

Constant pressure: The integrated fine focusing
travels continuously up/down.
– FFW precise fine focusing with focus wheel
When you operate the focus wheel
FFW
, the
system recognizes the magnification. The
higher the magnification, the slower the
fine focusing moves.
3.4.4 Focusing with motor focus: F
If you connected an optional motor focus, you can
control it using the keys
F+ and F–
. Here, the
motor focus moves the device up/down.
If the motor focus is used, the accompa-
nying user manual must be observed.
Read M2-267-1 and particularly the safety
instructions.
– F+ and F– focus keys
Constant pressure: The motor focus
continuously travels up/down.
If you do not use a motor focus on your
stand, focus with the manual coarse/fine drive.
Here, the coarse/fine drive moves the device
up/down.
3.4.5 Iris diaphragm: I
The integrated motorized iris diaphragm is for
continuous adjustment of the depth of field with-
out changing the magnification. You can reduce
the aperture diameter to enlarge the depth of
field. The size of the light cone is also reduced,
and the brightness of the image decreases.
The control of the iris diaphragm is carried out via
UMC and is open after initialization.
Using wheel I, you can regulate the aperture and
increase the depth of field for 3D objects.
