The navigator is almost maintenance free. There is, however, a f e w important
points to be noted.
Battery.
The internal real time clock and memory that keeps track of waypoints, alarm
limits etc is backed up by a lithium cell battery (Type
2032,
Expected
life time is 2 years.

electronics dealer

The battery is placed at the back of the navigator unit (see figure 7). is an
advantage t o have or just have had power on the unit (for
5 minutes), before
the battery is changed. This will give about three times the normal

Dismount the navigator.
Dismount the
D-SUB and
antenna cable
if
necessary t o get to
the back of
the navigator.
Remove battery rubber
lid
from the back of
the
navigator
using a
coin
or a instrument.
Remove the old battery.

new
battery without
loosing
the contents of the memory.
Insert the n e w battery
checking the right polarity.
Use a pair of plastic
tweezers, a rubber clove, a clear thin plastic back
or
a similar tool to re-
place the battery.
Do n o t use your fingers directly on
the battery. Grease
from fingers reduce the lifetime of
the
battery severely.
Replace the rubber lid.
Connect the cables dismounted).
Remount the navigator.
