mainTenance / cleaning
Your Leica Geovid HD-R binoculars do not require
any special care. Coarse dirt particles, such as
sand, should be removed with a fine hair brush or
blown away. Fingerprints etc. on the lenses or
eyepieces can be wiped off with a soft, clean
leather or dust-free cloth. For excessive soiling,
e.g. to the rotating eyepiece sleeves, the
binoculars can be cleaned simply be rinsing them
under running water. Saltwater can be rinsed off
in the same way.
caution:
Do not exert excessive pressure, even when
wiping very dirty lens surfaces. Although the
coating is highly abrasion resistant, it can be
damaged by sand or salt crystals. All Leica
Geovid HD-R binoculars have their “personal”
serial number in addition to the type designation.
Note this number in your documentation for
security.
