
Always use a cookware for it’s intended purpose. Follow manufacturer’s instructions. Some
cookwares were not made to be used on the radiant hob.
The size of the cookware would influence the setting needed for best cooking results.
Cookware Material Types
The cookware material determines how evenly and quickly heat is transferred from the
surface of the element within to the cookware bottom. The most popular materials available
and their grades in conducting heat are as below:-
Aluminium
-
Excellent heat conductor. If aluminium pot or pans are slide across
the ceramic hob top, they may leave metal marks that resemble
scratches. Remove these marks immediately.
Copper
-
Excellent heat conductor. Easily discolours and may leave a metal
mark on the surface of the ceramic hob. Remove these marks
immediately.
Stainless Steel -
Slow heat conductor with uneven cooking results. Durable, easy to
clean and resists staining.
Cast Iron
-
Poor heat conductor however would retain heat very well. Cooks
evenly once cooking temperature is reached. Not recommended for
use on ceramic hobs.
Glass
-
Slow heat conductor. Not recommended for ceramic hobs surface
because it may scratch the glass.
Curved and warped pan bottom.
Pan over hangs the cooking zone.
Heavy handle tilts pan.
Pan is smaller than the cooking zone.
