GEARS ON THE MOVE

81 Piece Set

Build 3 Motorized Vehicles

• Airplane
•  Race Car
• Motorcycle

Gears on the Move is a child’s introduction to the world of construction and move-
ment.  Bright colors and easy-to-assemble pieces encourage children to create moving
masterpieces.  There are endless ways to build. Children discover something new
every time they play.  Build the models shown in this guide or make your own cre-
ations!  Follow these instructions to get started.

NOTE:  The motor requires 3 fresh “AA” batteries.  To insert or remove batteries, use
a screwdriver to remove the battery compartment cover located on the hand held
motor control.  Be sure to insert batteries correctly according to (+) and (-) symbols in
the battery compartment.

See the last page in this guide for more information on proper battery care.

Use the buttons on the hand held motor control to move the model forward and
backward.

Building Tips

•  As you build, test the motor every so often to make sure the gears are moving,

and to make sure you have not over loaded it with too many gears.  The motor
will only power a limited number of gears, depending on the size of the gears
you use.  If the gears are turning very, very slowly, remove some of the gears.

•  When attaching the Crown Gear, first connect an axle with a gear on 1 side to

the motor, then place the crown gear connected to a red pillar with peg on top
(see figure #1).  If you put a gear on both sides of the axle, the gears will not
turn.

•  Your vehicle will roll best if the gears that touch the floor are moving in the same

direction.  Test this by placing it on the floor, turning on the motor and looking
at the direction the gears are turning (see figure #2).

•  Use the glow-in-the-dark stickers on the gear pieces to make them glow in the

dark.
