Figure 4-9: Option 6 Emergency Stop Channel (CN5 - FIO04 Connections)
Two emergency stop channel safety inputs are provided on the PCSS unit for connection to the
press brake as shown in
for the FIO04 module. When the emergency stop switch
contacts connected to both of these inputs are opened, an emergency stop condition is invoked
by the PCSS, preventing any further operation of the press brake. If multiple sources of
emergency stop switches are required to stop the press brake, it is also possible to add further
multiple normally closed switches in series with switches shown above. In the event that any of
these switches' contacts connected to emergency stop channels 1 and 2 are open, an
emergency stop condition will occur.
Both inputs are also used to reset a fault with the error reset switch should it occur. When the
emergency stop button is pressed causing the emergency top channels to be switched off, the
condition detected from the error reset option will then be reset providing that the fault detected
has been resolved.
Fault conditions on the state of both of these inputs are also monitored to always ensure they
are in the same state. If either of these inputs is in an opposite state or condition to the other
input then a fault condition will be flagged and an emergency stop condition of the press brake
will occur as shown in
