Note:
The cutting height settings are 1 inch (25 mm);
1-1/2 inch (38 mm); 2 inches (51 mm); 2-1/2 inches
(64 mm); 3 inches (76 mm); 3-1/2 inches (89 mm); and
4 inches (102 mm).
Adjusting the Upper Handle
Height
You may raise or lower the upper handle to a position
comfortable for you.
Note:
You cannot raise the upper handle higher than
the angle of the lower handle.
1. Loosen the upper handle knob (Figure 10).

2. Move the upper handle to the desired position
(Figure 11).

3. Tighten the upper handle knob as tight as you can
(Figure 12).

Starting the Engine
Hold the blade control bar against the handle and pull
the recoil starter (Figure 13).

Note:
If the mower does not start after several attempts,
contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
Using the Self-propel Drive
To operate the self-propel drive, simply walk with your
hands on the upper handle and your elbows at your
sides, and the mower will automatically keep pace with
you (Figure 14).

Note:
If, when backing up after self-propelling, the
mower does not roll backward freely, nudge the mower
forward about an inch or two without engaging the
self-propel drive (Figure 14), then pull the mower
backward.
