Mounting The Articulator To The Tractor
Follow the procedures listed below to properly mount the Articulator to the tractor:
1.
Park the tractor on level ground.
2.
Turn off the tractor, disengage the PTO, shift the transmission into neutral, and set the
parking brake.
3.
Approximate the position of the Articulator in front of the tractor.
4.
Mount the right Articulator push arm onto the tractor. The push arm has locking bolts
located on two sides of the mounting collar. One side of the mounting collar has a clamp-
ing plate welded inside, under the clamping bolts, to clamp against the tractor arm. You
must slide the second (loose) clamping plate into the other side of the collar, under the
second set of locking bolts, before sliding the collar onto the tractor arm. Slide the mount-
ing collar onto the tractor arm until it measures 11” from the end of the arm, and tighten
the locking bolts against the tractor arm. Lock the bolts with the jam nuts.
5.
Mount the front of the right push arm (ball swivel) to the right push arm mount plate on the
Articulator. Secure with bolt and nut.
6.
Mount the left tractor arm to the outside of the left mount plate on the Articulator. If the
tractor was originally equipped with a mulching deck, bolt the existing tractor deck mount-
ing bracket to the Articulator mount plate. If the tractor ws orignally equipped with a dis-
charge deck, remove the existing tractor deck mounting bracket and attach the supplied
mounting bracket to the tractor arm, then bolt it to the Articulator mount plate.
7.
Mount the Articulator deck lift arm to the tractor deck lift arm. Facing the tractor, position
the deck lift arm so that the mounting tabs are to the left, pointing toward the tractor.
Push the deck lift arm onto the front of the tractor lift arm. Secure with bolts and nuts.
8.
Mount the PTO shaft to the Articulator gearbox. Secure with roll pin.
9.
Mount the PTO shaft to the tractor. Secure with roll pin.
Before attempting to mount the Articulator to the tractor, be sure the
Engine is turned off, the transmission is in neutral, the parking brake
is set, and the PTO is disengaged!
