Symbols
Fig. B:
Warning about hazardous electrical voltage: Unprotected live
components inside the device housing are
capable of posing a risk of electric shock.
Fig. C:
Protection class II: The test device has reinforced
or double insulation.
Fig. D:
Overvoltage category IV: Devices such as electricity meters,
overcurrent circuit breakers and ripplecontrol units, which are inten-
ded for use at or near the infeed into the electrical installation of
buildings, and specifically from the main distribution to the supply
system.

Insertion of batteries
(see Fig. E)
Open the battery compartment and insert batteries according to the
symbols. Be sure to pay attention to polarity.
Before using the device, you should always test it on a main
circuit you know to be operational within the specified voltage
range.

LED indicator/status indicator
The LED indicator in the detector tip (1) signals the following:
Green LED:
Tester ready / off-circuit area
Red LED with alarm:
Live wires in vicinity
LED off:
Tester not ready
2
ON / OFF
(see Fig. G)
For safety, check all three phase conductors (L1, L2, L3) for
the presence of voltage!
!
If the acoustic signal is weak or the battery lamp is not as
bright as it should be, replace the batteries.

Localising electrical voltages
Fig. H:
Position the detector tip in the area to be tested (e.g. cable,
socket etc.).
Fig. I:
When voltage is present, the detector tip lights
up red, the voltage warning signal (2) lights up red, and a rapid
signal sounds.
