Aiming Point
Under certain circumstances, you may want to
account for the displacement between the center of
the scope lens and the measuring point of the laser
instrument itself. The effect of the displacement is
most noticeable at short range—generally less than
150 meters (500 feet). At ranges of more than 300
meters (1000 feet), the displacement has no
practical effect.
You account for the displacement by aiming the
cross hairs 7 cm (2.75 inches) above the center of
the target. To ensure accurate aiming, modify a
target reflector as shown or purchase a commercial
lighted target with built-in offset aiming points.
