MOUNTING

WARNING:

We strongly recommend that only a licensed electrician

install this product!

This exhaust fan is designed for wall mounting applications facilitated by

a sliding collar. The unit must fit in a 12.25" x 12.25" opening with 1.5" to

8" thickness during installation. The Occupational Safety and Health Act

stipulates that when a fan is mounted less than seven(7) feet above the

floor or working level, the blades shall be guarded and the guards shall

have openings no larger than one-half (½) inch. These fans require

supplementary guards when this requirement must be met.

Choose a location for the fan. Normally the fan is mounted on an
outside wall near the ceiling of

the room.

Cut a 12.25 in. (311.15 mm) square opening. Remove the mounting
collar. Use a sealing

compound (not included) on the fan

’s exterior

flange and insert the unit into the wall from the

outside with the

internal

louvers pointing down.

 There is also a label

 on unit

 indicating the top.

Holding the unit firmly in place, slide the mounting collar over the fan housing from the inside and secure

 to the surface

with sheet

metal screws

or bolts

(not included)

through

 the

flange

of

 the collar

. Use a sealing compound on the rear

flange of the outside louvers and press into place with the louvers again pointing downward. This will prevent the ingress

of water into the unit.
