5. Place battery into battery compartment. The battery can be placed in one of two
positions with the wires at either the top or bottom.
a. Ensure battery wires are placed either at the top or bottom of battery
compartment making sure wires do not interfere with pump body.
b. Ensure battery wires will not interfere with the battery cover by gently pressing
the wires into battery compartment.
6. Reinstall Battery Cover
a. Slide the two battery cover bottom tabs into the housing slots.
b. Lower the battery cover into position.
c. Complete the battery cover installation by pressing the battery cover locking tab
until cover surface matches with the pump body surface. When properly installed
the battery cover tab will snap into place. An audible click will be heard.
7. After replacing battery, dispose of used battery in accordance with local, state and
federal regulations.

Troubleshooting the Lansinoh® Smartpump 3.0 Double Electric
Breast Pump
Pump Has No Power
•
Power adapter is not properly connected. Verify the power cord is still plugged into
the pump and the wall.
•
Battery is not properly connected. Verify the battery connector is fully inserted.
•
Battery is drained. Plug the pump into an external power source and charge the
pump for 3 hours.
•

Interruption of Electrical Service
If you experience an interruption in the normal operation of the electrical and/or
mechanical function of the pump, simply do the following:
•
Verify the power cord is still plugged into the pump and the wall.
•
If using the rechargeable battery, verify the battery connector is fully inserted and
that the battery is properly charged.
•
If either the power cord or battery became disconnected, fix the connection then
press and hold the power button to turn the pump on.
•
If the pump is shutting off and the power adapter and battery were properly

Decreased Suction
If it feels like the suction has decreased, remove the tubing from the pump, place a
finger over the tubing connector, and try the following:
•
If you feel suction, the pump is operating properly, but the breastmilk expression set
may not be correctly assembled, or the diaphragm or white valve may be damaged.
