Always use a fire extinguisher with CO2, Dry Chemical
(Type ABC) or Foam.
Always wear proper personal protective equipment (eye
protection and gloves).
Always use insulated tools when working on batteries.
Always check connections for proper torque.
Always keep sparks, flames and static electricity away
from batteries.
Always use short cables of appropriate size to minimize
voltage drop.
Always make sure correct chargers are being used and
set as recommended.
Always read SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for other
important safety, health and regulatory information.
Always make sure chargers are off or disconnected
while working on batteries.
Always charge batteries before installing.
NEVER
Never dispose of batteries as household waste. Use
recycling channels in accordance with Local, State and
Federal Regulation.
Never wear jewelry or other metal objects when working

Never charge a battery when temperature is below 32°F
(-0°C) or above 140°F (60°C).
Never store batteries below 30% State-of-Charge.
Never exceed maximum charging currents for the
battery’s temperature.
Never connect or disconnect terminals from batteries
without first disconnecting loads.
Never open the battery case.
Never pressure wash or Immerse batteries in water.
Never short-circuit the battery terminals.
Never damage the battery physically. (this includes,
without limitation: puncture, drop, crush, burn,
incinerate, penetrate, shake, hammer or mis-connect
terminals)
