Tilt Cylinders
Review “Before you Begin...,” on page 1-1.
1.
See Figure 3-6 Follow instructions shown here: If the
cylinder is being removed, disconnect the two hoses
from the bulkhead fitting prior to removal from the
cylinder. The hose is fitted directly into the cylinder.
Cap and plug the hoses and cylinder ports. Also tag
the hoses for identification. Have rags handy for
spills.

Mark the location of the cylinder locknut for
reassembly to the new cylinder.
3.
On the mast end of the cylinder, remove the bolt and
hardware from the keeper pin assembly, remove pin
and lift cylinder from clevis on mast. Pin is fitted with
threaded hole (3/8-16) to allow for the use of a slide
hammer for pin removal.
4.
DO NOT
lose the cylinder spacers and note how
many spacers are on each side of the cylinder end.
5.
If the cylinder is being serviced, remove the retaining
bolt from the cylinder end, then remove the tilt
cylinder pin.
6.
Lift the cylinder from the front plate mount and
remove the tube spacers from each side of the
cylinder hub.
7.
If the cylinder is being replaced, mark the location of
the cylinder lock nut on the shaft.
8.
Loosen the cylinder shaft lock nut and thread the
cylinder rod end bearing from the cylinder rod.
9. To repair the tilt cylinder, replace seals, wiper,
O-rings, etc. See Landoll LSC Parts Manual P/N
F-575.
10. Install the lock nut, lock bracket and cylinder
end(hub) to the new cylinder shaft.
