b. Place a second 3" support block (#8) under the
deck’s rear edge in-line with the left blade
spindle.
Support Block placement under 48" Deck
Refer to Figure 3-9:
a. Place 3" high support block (#7) under the deck’s
front edge in-line with center blade spindle.
b. Place a second 3" support block (#8) under the
deck’s rear edge in-line with the left blade
spindle.
c. Center a third 3" support block under the deck’s
back edge in-line with the right blade spindle.
Refer to Figure 3-10:

Insert deck stop pin (#6) into “Deck Level Hole (#3)”.

Push forward on deck lift pedal (#2) with your right
foot, pull back on transport lock handle (#1) and
slowly release deck lift pedal to gently lower deck
against deck stop pin (#6).
7.
Loosen 3/8" hex flange Mac-locknuts (#5) on both
sides of the mower.
8.
Make certain deck is fully resting on support blocks
and deck lift pedal fully is against deck stop pin (#6).
Confirm that hanging straps (#4) are completely
adjusted down so top of slot is hanging tightly against
lift arm bolt.
9.
Retighten 3/8" hex flange Mac-locknuts (#5) to the
correct torque.

Refer to Figure 3-10:

WARNING
Make sure blade engagement switch is (OFF), switch key is
(OFF) and removed from ignition switch, control levers are
(OUT) and park brake is (ON) before making adjustments.
When level, the bottom edge of the deck should be 3"
above ground level with deck stop pin (#6) inserted in
Deck Leveling hole (#3). If needed, readjust deck height:
1.
Check tire pressures to make certain they are
properly inflated. See “Tire Inflation Chart” on
page 53 for correct tire pressures.
2.
Park unit on a flat level surface.
3.
Push forward on deck lift pedal (#2) with your right
foot to raise deck fully up until transport lock (#1)
catches and holds deck up. Deck should stay up after
releasing your right foot.
4.
Place 3" high deck support blocks (#7) under the
deck edge in two locations for the 40" deck and three
locations for the 48" deck. (Two 2" x 4" x 5" or longer
boards may be stacked to make one 3" high block)
