Connect Driveline to Tractor
Refer to Figure 1-2 on page 13:
DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
All guards and shields must be installed and in good
working condition while operating the implement.
•
Do not engage power take-off while connecting or
disconnecting the driveline, or while someone is standing
near the driveline. A person’s body and/or clothing can
become entangled in the driveline.
•
Do not use a power take-off adapter. The adapter will
increase strain on the tractor’s power take-off shaft causing
possible damage to shaft and driveline. It will also defeat
the purpose of the tractor’s power take-off shield.
•
Make certain driveline yokes are securely fastened at each
end. A loose yoke can work free allowing the driveline to
WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Always shut tractor down according to “Tractor Shutdown
Procedure” provided in this manual before allowing
anyone, including the operator, to connect or disconnect the
implement.
•
Check driveline when lowering implement to make sure it
does not interfere with the tractor drawbar at maximum
depth. If needed, shut tractor off and move or remove
drawbar to prevent driveline damage.
IMPORTANT:
Check driveline minimum collapsible
length before completing
. Structural damage to the tractor and
implement can occur if this check is not made.
Refer to
“Check Driveline Collapsible Length”
IMPORTANT:
An additional driveline may be
required if implement is attached to more than one
tractor or if a Quick Hitch is used.
IMPORTANT:
The driveline must be lubricated
before putting into service.
Refer to
IMPORTANT:
Drivelines with friction clutches must
go through a “run-in” prior to initial use and after long
periods of inactivity. For detailed instructions, see
1. If driveline collapsible length has not been checked,
“Check Driveline Collapsible Length”
page 15. Otherwise, continue with step 1 below.
2. Shut tractor down before dismounting. Refer to
3. If tractor drawbar interferes with the driveline,
disconnect driveline and move drawbar forward, to
the side, or remove it.
4. Apply a light coat of grease on the tractor’s power
take-off shaft.
5. Push in on driveline yoke pin (#3) and push driveline
yoke onto the tractor power take-off shaft. Release
push pin and continue to push driveline yoke forward
until push pin pops out and yoke collar locks in place.
6. If driveline is too long to push yoke onto the tractor
power take-off shaft, refer to
on page 15. Otherwise,
continue with step 8 below.
7.
Push/pull on driveline yoke several times to ensure
yoke is locked in place.
Connect Hydraulic Hoses
(Optional Hydraulic Angling Kit)
Refer to Figure 1-2 on page 13:
WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
Hydraulic fluid under high pressure will penetrate the skin or
eyes causing serious injury. Wear protective gloves and safety
glasses or goggles when working with hydraulic systems. Use
a piece of cardboard or wood, rather than hands, when
searching for leaks. If an accident occurs, seek immediate
emergency medical care or gangrene may result. DO NOT
1. Locate hydraulic angling hoses, then clean and
connect quick disconnect couplers (#4) to a single
duplex outlet on the tractor.
2. Return to the tractor and raise Powered Rake off
ground slightly.
3. Cycle hydraulic system by extending and retracting
the cylinder several times to purge hydraulic cylinder
of air.
4. Switch quick disconnect couplers at the duplex outlet
if Powered Rake does not angle in the direction
desired.
