Driveline Shortening
Figure 1-2
8.
Remove all burrs and cuttings.
9.
Apply multi-purpose grease to the inside of the outer
shaft and reassemble driveline.
10. Attach driveline to splitter gearbox input shaft and
tractor PTO shaft. Make sure driveline safety chains
are properly hooked. Refer “Driveline Installation” on
page 10 for detailed instructions.
11. Start tractor and raise rake just enough to remove

Check Driveline Interference
Refer to Figure 1-3:
Maximum PTO Driveline Movement During Operation
Figure 1-3
1.
Slowly engage tractor hydraulic 3-point control lever
to lower rake while checking for sufficient drawbar
clearance. Move drawbar ahead, aside or remove if
required.
2.
Raise and lower implement to find maximum
extended driveline length. Check to make certain the
driveline does not exceed the maximum allowable
length and 25
o
up or down.
3.
If needed, set tractor 3-point lift height to keep
driveline from exceeding the maximum allowable
length and 25
o
up.
IMPORTANT: Avoid premature driveline
breakdown. A driveline that is operating must not
exceed an angle of 25 degrees up or down while
operating 3-point lift. See Figure 1-3 below. If
needed, set tractor 3-point hitch lift height so that the
driveline does not exceed 25
o
up.
