Unhook Rotary Cutter

1.

See 

“Long-Term Storage” 

on page 38 if parking 

cutter for long periods and end of season. 

2.

If power take-off is engaged, idle engine, then 
disengage power take-off. 

3.

Park cutter on a level, hard surface. Place tractor 
gear selector in park or in neutral and set park brake.

4.

Wait for blades to come to a complete stop and then 
fold wings up to transport position.

5.

Shut tractor engine off and remove switch key before 
dismounting from tractor.

6.

Lock wings in transport position with transport locks 
and hairpin cotters. See 

“Transport Locks” 

on page 

27.

Refer to Figure 1-12:

7.

Remove all stroke control spacers (#2) from center 
hydraulic cylinder (#1) by spreading them apart at 
the break line.

8.

Start tractor and lower cutter until front skids are 
resting on the ground or on support blocks. 

9.

Shut tractor down properly before dismounting. Refer 
to 

“Tractor Shutdown Procedure” 

on page 12.

10. Replace stroke control spacers as needed to support 

wheels at this position.

11. Move cylinder lift levers back and forth to release all 

hydraulic pressure at the couplers.

12. Attach park jack (#3) to jack mount (#12).

13. Unhook hitch safety chain (#4) from tractor.

14. Unhook hydraulic hose (#7) from tractor duplex 

outlet. Insert couplers through spring hose loop (#10) 
to keep couplers out of the dirt.

15. Unhook wire harness (#13) from tractor outlet. Coil 

wire harness and store over spring hose loop (#10) 
with connector hanging down to keep moisture out.

16. Pull back on locking collar (#6) and pull driveline (#5) 

from tractor power take-off shaft.

17. Collapse driveline (#5) by pushing tractor end of 

driveline toward the splitter gearbox.

18. Store yoke end of driveline (#5) on the cutter hitch 

support rest (#11). Do not store yoke end in the dirt.

19. Adjust park jack (#3) up until hitch weight is removed 

from tractor drawbar.

 Remove hairpin cotter (#2) and hitch 

pin (#1).

NOTE:  

Center deck will raise fully up before wing 

cylinders will start to fold wings up.

21. Start tractor and drive tractor slowly forward several 

feet while watching to make sure no components are 
still hooked to the tractor.

22. Shut tractor down properly before dismounting. 

23. Lower park jack until cutter is resting on its front skid 

shoes.

24. Replace hitch pin (#1) as follows:

Hitch, store hitch pin (#1) in horizontal hitch holes. 
Secure with hairpin cotter (#2)

: If unhooking standard clevis, 

replace connecting pin (#1) in clevis (#9) and
