3)
Turning on the PoE+ switch and connecting devices to it
Step 1)
Connect the power by inserting the end of the PoE+ switch's power adapter plug into its power
socket located at the back of the desktop PoE+ switch,
Step 2)
Connect one end of RJ-45 crossover (Ethernet) cable to one of the LAN ports located on the
desktop PoE+ switch and its other end to the user’s end device (e.g. PC, laptop etc.) The
connection will be automatically established.
4)
The principle of the switch in PoE / PoE+ mode
Each LAN port works in 10/100/1000 Mbps mod. The PoE+ switch provides a total 60 W PoE budget (apparent
power up to about 63 W). The maximum working distance between devices is 100m.
1 ~ 4 ports work in IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at standard providing maximum power supply for connected devices
up to 30 W per port.
If the total available PoE budget is exceeded, the switch chipset will turn off the PoE ports,
starting from the highest PoE port number to the smallest. The shutdown procedure will be stopped when the total
load of connected devices will be below the available PoE budget. It is recommended to connect the most
important devices starting from the smallest port in terms of numbering.
Never connect a end device that may
cause PoE budget to be exceeded to the highest PoE port numbering - this will cause a run loop.

Troubleshooting
•
Power LED is turned off: check if the power supply is correctly plugged in and the plug is in the PoE+ switch. On
top of that, make sure that input current parameters are in accordance with the specification. Try removing
and inserting the plug again or use a different power supply that meets the desktop PoE+ switch specification.
•
Port LED is turned off: check if the cable is not damaged and that the network configuration is set correctly.
Then check whether all devices connected to the PoE+ switch are operational and properly configured. In the
case of PoE / PoE+, check whether the end device supports the active PoE mode - at least one of the standards:
IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at.
•
Other: Verify if all the connected devices are in Full-Duplex mode and if the cable is min. UTP Cat.5e, ≤ 100m.
