Using the GPS 530 with other aircraft
In order to use the GPS 530 for LNAV with other aircraft the following recommendations
can be given:
Make sure a
GPS flight plan
is
loaded
and a leg of it is active or, a Direct-To is active.
The GPS CDS selection on left bottom side should show „
GPS
“ label, and not „
VLOC
“
(except if using ILS or traditional VOR navigation). It can be toggled pressing the
CDS
button.
The GPS
OBS
setting should be
off
, i.e. no „
OBS
“ label should be displayed above
the OBS button. It can be toggled pressing the
OBS
button.
The
autopilot
of the aircraft should be
turned on
The
NAV mode
of the autopilot should be
engaged
If the NAV mode is just armed, then HDG mode should be engaged and the HDG
should be setup to intercept the current leg.
